ABOUT

Rural Newfoundland has been in the process of cataclysmic change for generations now. Rural Newfoundland is, in many ways, fading, the thousands of small communities that dotted our shores and islands are on the brink. All that remains are the bones of the homes, the stages, the boats that were left behind. In many cases even these structures are distressingly close to ruin.

My project is to visit as many of these sites as I can and document what I can. Through photographs, recordings, interviews, videos, writing and more I hope to preserve, at the very least in documentation, what we left behind.

This project will culminate in a gallery show. A published book. The creation of an archive of images from as many communities as I can visit.

The projects name is "Unsettled - what we leave behind".

I encourage you to reach out f you know of a home, a church, a public building... anything from the past that is on the edge of disappearing to please contact me and let me know.  I will strive to get to these places and record what remains

Thanks again...
